Sustainable Livelihoods Through Eco-Enterprises

Many communities rely heavily on forests for income and daily survival, which can lead to overuse and environmental degradation. Recognizing this challenge, JUMIJAZA developed this project to provide sustainable livelihood alternatives that align with conservation goals.

The project introduces and supports eco-friendly enterprises such as beekeeping, sustainable agriculture, and small-scale green businesses. These activities are carefully selected based on local context, market potential, and environmental sustainability.

Beyond introducing these opportunities, JUMIJAZA provides comprehensive support—including training, startup guidance, and continuous mentorship—to ensure long-term success. Communities are also supported in developing business skills, improving product quality, and accessing markets.

By linking income generation with conservation, the project helps reduce pressure on forests while improving economic stability at the household level. It also strengthens resilience by diversifying income sources and reducing vulnerability to environmental and economic shocks.
